Well, well, well. Apparently I am the Nostradamus of the cider world. Either that or I do, in fact, have a good grasp of the complex dynamics of the UK and global cider markets. Just a few days after posting my lamentation for the decline of bittersweet apple orchards in the UK, this very topic is thrust into the headlines of the national media here in the UK thanks to the decision of Heineken to sell their 300 acre Penrhos orchard and grub up the trees in preparation for the sale.
Several people have asked for my take on the topic, so I thought a video was the best way to explore this complex story. I’d be interested to hear everyone’s opinion!
